Relationship Driven Data Specialists
If you’re visiting this page the chances are that you’ve been contacted by one of our clients and as a result you wish to understand how your details have come to be held by us. You may even want those details removing.
Firstly, and most importantly, we value your data, we do hold it legally, it was gathered legally, and will have been opted in. The data we hold has been collected for marketing and market research purposes, sourced from various online and offline sources with full permission to use and share.
Also, all of your data is held securely, encrypted and processed lawfully according to GDPR, DPA and PECR under legitimate interest or with express opt-in consent.
Please be aware that a high proportion of our clients are Market Research co’s which may mean your number has been generated as random with no contact details attached (we call this RDD – see the RDD FAQ below) and/or your number may sit outside of TPS restrictions (see FAQ below for fuller explanation as to why)
However, we completely understand and respect that as much as we value your data and take care of your data, you may still wish to be removed from our files. Our aim is to facilitate that as quickly and simply as possible.
If you are still thinking ‘Remove my Details’, all we need you to do is please complete the form below.
Please complete this form as fully as you can (see below as to why we need these details), click Send and we will do the rest. Our aim is to come back to you with deletion confirmed within 48 hours. The information we ask for is only required for two purposes; firstly to accurately match your details on our databases in order to remove them and secondly to confirm back to you that this process has been completed. All data will then be deleted.
These FAQs relate to the points raised above. For further information or FAQs please go to our Info Hub page above
Random Digit Dialling (RDD) is essentially the random generation of telephone numbers in a geographical area for landlines or by network in the case of mobiles, using the first 5-8 digits as a base and then a randomisation of the final 6-3.
It is a methodology used in telephone market research to provide an entirely unbiased sample of the population, as the only information known is the telephone number – no personal details are attached to these numbers, nor are they sought.
Once these numbers have been generated, they are validated to ensure the numbers are working, and screened against business numbers to minimise the amount of non-residential numbers being supplied. For a more detailed explanation of what RDD is, and what it can or can’t do why not check out our blogs here.
Our consumer data is sourced from a leading UK consumer database and all personal information is collected by people registering via lead generation campaigns. Personal information is transferred to their database only when the submit button has been clicked.
The site is NOT pre ticked or pre-populated so people only provide details, information and consent by choosing to do so. The information collected at registration can include name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth.
All postal and telephone data shared by our source relies on a lawful ground called ‘legitimate interest’, as our sources business depends on their ability to partner with third parties who process personal data for marketing-related reasons. For email campaigns they only rely on explicit consent.
Our business data is sourced from a leading UK business database of over 2 million businesses. This database has been built over 50 years and their current sources include directory partners, open data, telecom providers, Companies House, PAF, credit reference agencies and other data partners.
They use industry leading technology and advanced AI techniques to drive their data capture and a call centre to verify all their UK B2B data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and GDPR/PECR compliance.
There are two main differences in the data that may have been used to contact you and how it is allowed to be used.
Firstly, Market Research companies are not restricted by the TPS (please see here for details directly from the TPS). Even if your number is registered on the TPS, a Market Research company can legitimately contact you as long as the sole purpose is market research. However, virtually all our clients suppress their data against the TPS and their own internal Do Not Call lists as they have no wish to upset people who do not wish to be contacted and as such are very unlikely to participate in their market research.
Secondly, for market research companies only, we produce a product called RDD (see previous FAQ or our Blog page for a fuller explanation of what RDD is), which is a randomly generated telephone number with no other contact details associated with it (no contact name, no address, no postcode). For the purposes of market research, this means the results of their market research will be much more representative in terms of gender, age and region.
You can read the full copy of our Privacy Statement here. Subject to a legitimate request your data will be promptly deleted and you can also choose to opt out of marketing communications via MPS, etc. In an extreme situation where you wish to make a formal complaint, you can do so directly to our compliance team at compliance@data-scope.co.uk. An initial response will be made within 48 hours.
We love data, but we love our clients more! Being part of their team, meeting their needs no matter how challenging and solving their data problems is fundamental to who we are and why we are here.
